10 Dopest Cannabis Artists on Instagram

By: Ms. Giftsz

Lately, Cannabis Art is on the rise, and it won’t be going “up in smoke” any time soon. So I’ve compiled a list of 10 Dopest Cannabis Artists on Instagram (in no particular order). These are the artists I’m looking out for, and you might want to keep your eyes open for them too!

Cabin7Originals

“Vibrant artwork for happy hippie souls” – this is how artist @cabin7originals describes their artwork in their Instagram bio. And judging from the posts above, vibrant might be an understatement! This artist’s work appears to jump off the screen, and viewers can’t help but find themselves immersed in the images. It’s cool, fun, and most importantly, it accurately depicts the lifestyle of the millennial smoker, something many Instagram users can relate to. And where the hell can I get those outfits?!

So there’s THC in your blood too? Join the club! Artist @thc.in.blood gets extra points for the Instagram name alone. But more importantly, the artwork is both eclectic and disturbing. It’s a bit morbid to imagine your brain being sliced open, but finding nothing but weed nuggets inside, that’s even more mind-blowing. Or mind-slicing. Either way, it’s weird. But for some reason…I just can’t look away!

Theheadstash.art

Now this is my kind of art. @theheadstash.art’s post depicts a woman of color with an afro made of weed. The artwork is AMAZING! As a painter myself, I can vouch that a painting of this caliber is no easy task. The artist’s way of effortlessly portraying the look of sadness and beauty in the woman’s eyes alone can take years for an artist to master. I’m impressed to say the least, and I am looking forward to seeing more of their work.

Not much is known about artist @woodencyclops. His name is Wesley James and he’s an illustrator.  He might be a tattoo artist, but this is merely speculation. One thing I can confirm is that his artwork totally KICKS ASS. I love cartoons, and when an artist combines caricature-like images, images of marijuana, and crass statements, it’s a recipe for success! The vibrant colors are enough to send any viewer on a trip. Enjoy the ride!

Bunnyfoofee

Straight out of San Diego, California, artist @bunnyfoofee brings an element of elegance to cannabis artwork with her images of dainty women holding powerful spliffs. I can’t help but get a dose of feminism from her artwork, and as a raging feminist myself, I can relate. There’s nothing hotter than a woman with her own weed, especially when she bought it, and rolled it, herself. Her Instagram bio reads that she wants to make something good to die for. And this, my dear, is definitely that. Kudos to you @bunnyfoofee!

Posh.Queen

I can’t predict the future, but I can say with certainty that artist @posh.queen has a bright future ahead of them. This image posted on their Instagram page, shows a stoned out Garfield on the couch. Now I don’t know about you, but there’s something really rewarding about imagining your favorite cartoon characters high. It makes them more  relatable. And speaking of relatability, this too is the kind of art I can relate to – sitting on the couch with the munchies watching Love and Hip-Hop. So keep doing what you do, @posh.queen, and in a few years, let me know if my “vision of your bright future” came true. I’m sure it will!

Mvtthewwmm

Artist Matthew Minnott (@mvtthewwmm) has a unique way of combining both realism and fantasy to depict weed culture unlike his peers. The image shown (taken from his Instagram account) shows a young woman rolling up a joint. She has her back towards to water, in an effort to block the wind from the tide. Any true cannabis smoker can relate to the difficulties of rolling a spliff at the beach. So much to look out for – the nosy beach goers, the running children, kicking sand in your face, the seagulls. The relatability of Matthew’s artwork alone is enough to captivate any viewer, and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing more of his work.

I know what you’re thinking, “That’s a waste of weed”. But look at the beauty in @artofstoned’s post. And imagine the envy of your peers after noticing there’s a spliff of weed in your middle finger and everyone’s really “f**ked” because no one can smoke it. Genius, just genius. Though little is known about Instagram user @artofstoned, their posts are eye-catching, artistic and unique. It is a beautiful representation of modern day weed culture, and this post alone makes her Instagram page worth a follow.

Boyishmind

Though I was recently introduced to him, @boyishmind is one of my new favorite artists. All of his work is just as “trippy”, blending elements of science-fiction and weed culture like no other. This image depicts what appears to be a high alien with a semi-high brain, toting a spliff in hand. I bet he’s the hottest pothead on Mars right now. @Boyishmind creates artwork that portrays vivid scenarios we may have never imagined, but certainly enjoy viewing. The detail is stunning, and he gets extra points for the use of neon. One word: DOPE!

Lonewolftattooshassock

If I were an alien, I’d be the woman in @lonewolftattooshassocks’s Instagram post. This is what I call”trippy art” at its best! The colors are vibrant, the woman’s stare is intense, and you can’t help but wonder, what’s in the bong?!

It really makes you think about whether life on other planets exists, and if so, is this how they’re spending their time? Thanks for the fantasy @lonewolftattooshassocks, I’m here for it!

And there you have it, the 10 trippiest, coolest, dopest Instagram artist’s out now! Be sure to give them a follow! And if you enjoyed the read, follow me on Instagram at @officialgabbiegiftsz for lots of cool new content!
