The cannabis industry is booming and the production of farms is crucial to its growth.
A common theme among these farms is their relatively small, family feel, and their impactful efforts to be environmentally conscious and sustainable.
Part of the appeal of cannabis is to be able to connect with nature spiritually and physically.
Although these farms are businesses, their initial gravitation to cultivating cannabis is not forgotten, rather, it is harnessed to achieve premium products and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Native Roots
The Native Roots farm is in Colorado and has multiple locations in the area. The website has an easy search function to help find the best location to suit your needs.
From cartridges, to cannabis buds, to edibles, this place has many options. Notable products include their Spectra Live Resin Bruce Banner cartridge that is not only a quality product but consumers will also not have to worry about fearing for their safety.
They also have Mr. Moxey’s THC mints and cheddar crackers that were very highly rated on their website.
For the more adventurous customer, Native Roots offers topical lotions used for sexual experiences and also sells a THC Coda Bath Bomb, providing a fun, yet soothing option for cannabis users.
The Native Roots website has many relevant articles to choose from such as the benefits of using cannabis before and after working out.
From their website “a 2008 study from ETH Zurich/Swiss Federal Institute of Technology as well as the U.S. National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health suggested that cannabis has properties to help support muscle recovery while addressing muscle discomfort and reducing soreness.” Native Roots is flexible to fit your needs.
Glass House Farms
Based in the Santa Barbara area, their farms strive not only for excellence in their products, but also in the roles they play in their local communities.
They play a growing role in their local economies and are vigilant in staying up to code as there are constant rapid changes in this industry.
One way they look out for their local communities is by meticulously staying on top of light and odor control, while still providing the best product.
State of the art greenhouses with environmentally friendly processes also help protect the coast, something Glass House Farms calls “taking the high road.”
They also use a highly efficient water recycling program, illustrating their dedication to the environment.
Common, but high-quality strains like Sour Diesel and Sour Tangie are cultivated, as well as other strains like Jellyfish and Super Silver Haze.
The user who wants to enjoy marijuana while also having the reassurance of environmental protection should look to this farm.
Humboldt’s Finest
Humboldt’s Finest, located in Humboldt County, California is located in a beautiful area at the edge of a primeval forest.
This gives the farm an important distinction from others as it utilizes the old massive redwoods, the rich soil, and the moist coastal air, as a prime breeding ground for cannabis plants.
They are able to grow their product outdoors with natural light and use careful conservation techniques to be able to create the best “farm to table” experience possible.
Cannabis growing is ingrained in this part of the country as one-fifth of the county’s residents are growers and the plant makes up 25% of their local economy.
The website even acknowledges their slightly higher prices and slower cultivating times, but it justifies it with a premium and all-natural products (no chemical preservatives, toxic pest control, fake lighting) that is grown meticulously by hand.
Humboldt’s Finest provides interesting strains like Pink Panties, Motorbreath, and Mimosa.
They sell buds in a beautiful and natural-feeling packaging and one of their unique offers is a 7 half gram pre-roll box that allows the customer to choose a combination from 10 different strains offered.
This is the best farm for the user that prefers a homemade touch, similar to a backyard garden.
Moon Made Farms
Moon Made Farms is also located in Humboldt County, sharing the rich forest and the many environmental benefits it provides.
It is one of the most ideal locations in the country to grow cannabis as the soil is rich from the ancient redwoods and the air has moisture from the sea.
However, an interesting difference from Humboldt’s Finest is that Moon Made Farms places a strong emphasis on the rich cultural history of the area.
They participate in ongoing site research to learn about and honor the native people that lived there and the Chinese, Russian, and Spanish immigrants that came after them.
Moon Made Farms strives to blend their flowers and farm alike with proper care and culture.
Ridgeline Farms
This is another farm in Southern Humboldt County, CA. Like other farms in the area, they place a strong value on environmental practices, family ties, and overall quality of their work.
Their strain, Green Lantern, won the Emerald Cup in 2018 and reached levels of about 35% THC.
Due to its serene outdoor areas to grow the crop, they avoid unnatural greenhouses and mainly grow Sour Diesel.
Noble Farms
Noble Farms is a family owned, recreational farm located in Oregon. They use techniques called vine-ripening and hand trimming that give it a personal touch and more aesthetic appeal.
They are best known for their strains Jack Herer and Blueberry Kush, with a strong aroma, many positive effects, and many terpenes for added benefits.
Noble Farms has a fantastic website with very artistic pictures of their flowers, adding to the experience of the customer.
High Five Farms
High Five Farms grows their cannabis in Washington state, specifically in the sunniest part of the region.
Their growers emphasize the significance of natural sun over artificial light while also helping keep a low carbon footprint.
This farm sells recreationally and some of their notable strains include the deep purple color of Allen Wrench and the sativa dominant Cookie Monster Mango Haze.
High Five Farms also has a noteworthy feature for customers on their website that allow them to see pictures of what production looks like in the different seasons of the year.
Fog City Farms
Fog City Farms is found at an indoor facility in Santa Cruz County, CA.
According to their website, the farms “use a state of the art vertical growing platform, including an integrated mobile vertical racking system, LED lights and Vertical Air Solution’s pressurized air movement and Co2 system.”
They also advertise that all of the water used is recirculated and not wasted. While other farms argue for outdoor cultivation, Fog City Farms is a great example of a farm transforming the indoors to grow high-quality products.
Well known strains on the farm like Fun Dip and Candyland are cared for with meticulous work.
Madrone Farms
Madrone Farm resides in Mendocino, CA. They have over 40 farms and different techniques for different styles of strains; this is something not seen on many farms.
For their exotic strains, the process takes place in a controlled indoor setting and examples include White Russian or Blue Lemon Thai.
Then their boutique strains are grown in what they describe “dynamic environments” and include Trinidad OG and Peanut Butter Breath.
Finally, their artisan flowers are grown in their greenhouses or outdoors under the natural sun and consist of strains like Afghan Kush and Agent Tropicana.
Secret Gardens of WA
The farm is based in Washington and grows their plants in an indoor facility. Secret Gardens is known for their detail-oriented approach.
On their website they depict engaging logos for each strain to help demonstrate the character each one offers.
Some strains include Platinum Alien OG and Rude Boi.
Eagle Trees Farm
Eagle Trees Farm is in Bellingham, Washington on the Nooksack River beneath Mt. Baker.
Due to their advantageous location, they grow their cannabis with all-natural sunlight and outdoor greenhouses.
The founders of the farm had their first experiences growing these plants in Humboldt County, CA and since, have transferred their skills back home.
It is crucial to them to utilize everything the environment has to offer, while still being sustainable and eco-friendly.
They use organic soil and certain types of insects to prevent pests and still be able to avoid chemicals.
