People have been using cannabis as medicine for years. Sadly, many have had to keep their use hidden due to outdated laws and misdirected societal norms.
Now, as the cannabis laws are changing around the U.S, more and more people are coming forward to share their stories about using cannabis to heal.
Miss Marijuana has been reaching out to cannabis enthusiasts to find out what ails them and how cannabis has been essential in helping them heal their physical and mental pain.
It’s through sharing these stories, those from every day people who use this plant as medicine, that we can change the conversation about marijuana.
Here’s the latest story from the woman behind the cannabis blog, Mermaid Ganja, and how she has been using cannabis for ADD and ADHD:
I want to share with you my story of how marijuana has worked as a medicine in my life. Cannabis has offered me a medicinal benefit for my struggles with ADD, ADHD, and Anxiety.

Growing up, all through my school years I was being prescribed medications for ADD/ADHD. I remember when I was on these medications feeling like my natural love and happiness and my bubbly personality was altered and my focus for other things were a lot stronger.
Although it helped with school, I would lose my appetite when on my medication and wouldn’t eat throughout the day.
In one month I lost close to 8 pounds from lack of food consumption, and shortly after realizing what the pills were really doing to my body I completely stopped and refused to take prescription medications.

I started looking for a more natural alternative to help slow my thoughts and help with focus.
Eventually I tried cannabis and it really worked miracles for me. Heavy indica strains like GDP and Cookie strains helped with my focus and allowed me to be less compulsive and to think before actually doing.
If you are new to cannabis and are using it for a medicinal reason, make sure you experiment with different strains that work well with your body.
For instance, I stay away from sativa strains because they give me anxiety and don’t work well for my ADHD as indica does.
Indica strains slow me down and relax my mind working great as a natural alternative for my ADHD.

As a medical consumer now for five years I use cannabis products for not just my ADHD, I cook with cannabis, and also use it to relax my muscles and relieve my pain.
I really fell in love with the plant, and am an advocate and a blogger for the plant.
I strive to share with my readers my stories, my favorite companies, and products that stand out to me.
I believe marijuana can be used as a natural alternative for many people for many different reasons and hope as cannabis becomes more accessible, people will start seeing the major difference it can have in your life.
