Recreational and medical weed are legal in places all over the country. But, while people can make marijuana purchases, they often struggle to find legal places to light up. The founder of the site, Sean Roby, created the platform to help legal smokers solve this dilemma.

According to the Bud and Breakfast site, they consider themselves to be “the largest collection of marijuana-friendly hotels and other cannabis-friendly rentals anywhere on the web.”

Where Are These Weed Friendly Hotels?

After marijuana became legal in states around the U.S, the platform was born. Now, it has extended its reach to countries around the world. Users can find weed friendly hotels in Colorado, California, and Washington, but also in South America, Europe, and the Caribbean. As more cities and states legalize the plant, users can expect more options on the site. After taking a quick look around, we’ve seen listings in Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, and Vermont.

Roby stated that his main intention for the site was to help tourists find a safe place to smoke, especially in places like Colorado. He noticed that people were visiting the dispensaries, making purchases, and then smoking in the streets. “We want to provide safe and legal accommodations for people to have an alternative,” said Roby in an interview with The Guardian.

Bud and Breakfast works the same way as AirBnB, allowing homeowners to offer their places on the site. This way, travelers can get a truly unique experience. The website also warns that “Each of the 420-friendly rentals will have their own set of house rules so be sure to pay extra attention,” so it’s important to know what you’re getting into before your stay.

While looking through the site, it’s obvious that there are a lot of options, and they seem like high-quality stays. Some of them have weed-inspired names like, ‘Pothead’s Paradise,’ ‘Cannabis Crash Pad,’ and ‘Dabber’s Delight Mini-Loft.”

But, what makes these stays weed-friendly other than the acceptance of pot smoking? Well, it depends. Some homes market themselves as being in walking distance to dispensaries. Others offer a stock of smoking paraphernalia, and a well-established record collection. Others offer access to their exclusive canna-bar, and some offer to book 420-services like limos where you can smoke weed.

Roby doesn’t believe that his site is a competitor for AirBnB. He also explains that the clientele are not just stoners and hippies. “I don’t really see too many people who are coming into our accommodations who are the traditional stoner, deadhead, hippie mentality,” he said. “We’re looking at professional people that are coming in for a corporate event that want to have a place to go and relax afterwards, and that’s our clientele, says Roby.”

So, if you’re looking for a weed friendly hotel in a state where you can legally buy, Bud and Breakfast is the place. And sure, you could just smoke in your regular AirBnB on the down low, but that wouldn’t be cool. In these weed-loving accommodations, you won’t have to worry when you light up.
