What Does Weed Feel Like?
Like wrapping up in a warm blanket
“Imagine being really cold, wet, and uncomfortable from being out in the snow for a few hours. Then imagine the feeling of relief you get when you curl up in a ball in a soft, thick blanket with a cup of hot cocoa next to you. Being high on some good stuff feels like you’re that feeling, only constant.”-biscuitskillet

Hyper-focused
“I tend to feel kinda warm and fuzzy/lethargic. Patterns, colors, and textures become much more interesting. Also music is amazing! Cut to me and my friends in my freshman dorm listening to tame impala & looking at kaleidoscopes. In general also you become more focused on details & more likely to hyper focus on things (sometimes to the point of paranoia or anxiety if you smoke too much or the wrong strain).” -Amanda0396

Like you can do anything
“For me, I feel like I can do anything. I’m a naturally paranoid person and weed actually helps with that. I lose all my inhibitions and I’m normally very socially awkward but weed helps me to come out of my shell and meet new people (usually other people that smoke) but for me overall it’s just amazing” -chiliwilly001

Purely instinctual
“The biggest thing that I notice when I’m high is my field of view. The next time you play a video game with an FoV slider, mess with it a little and you’ll get the idea. Weed makes me focus on whatever I’m doing at the time, usually video games. I block everything else out and just do. It’s a great feeling to sometimes work off pure instinct. It gives you another lens to view the world in.”-Arkblade117

Hungry and emotional
“I personally freak out. Hallucinate and feel really shitty. I cry over the silliest things.I once cried because Abe Lincoln got shot (I’m not even American) I thought my friend’s pine trees had skeletons hanging off them and I ate ALL my parents meat. When I say all, I mean all. They were pissed. My 16-year-old part time pay cheques went to paying them back.”-mybmisbananas

A new perspective
“Well for me, being high is great for thinking. If you have a big decision to make, be sure to think on it sober, but also take a few hits and give it a second thought, it might give you a new perspective. I guess that’s a good way to describe it right there: “a new perspective.” it’s like you get to enjoy the world you live in every day, but through a different lens.” -Saluisa

Keeps your mind off the pain
“I’d say there are different levels to how high/stoned I can get. If I smoke a small amount a 1-2 grams everything seems brighter with a yellow tint. I can be as productive as I need to be but it’s the perfect amount of high for hiking or for a nice day outing. But if my mission is to get stoned 1/4 oz. (7 grams) will put me to sleep, perfect to take my mind off of any ailments, back pain, anxiety etc. I’ve never heard anything out of the ordinary while stoned, mostly balance equilibrium issues.”-elmartiin619
Marijuana users, what does ‘being stoned’ feel like to you? What thoughts go through your mind? Does it make you feel insecure? Does it make you feel like you’re being annoying? Does it make you super paranoid? Have you ever had auditory hallucinations after smoking way too much in one sitting? from AskReddit
In your own world
“When I first inhale the smoke from a pipe, bong, joint, blunt, or whatever I have, nothing happens. Just the pine or citrusy or herby flavor sticking to the top of my mouth and tongue. 8 to 30 seconds crawl by then you start to feel “different”. Normally this is described as a lifting, weightless feeling. Other happenings include distractions seeming to fade away.
Anxiety subsides, as do things like stress, and emotional conflict. I can normally think more unbiased once I smoke. When I smoke a ton I am almost in my own world. I have the sensation of being invisible almost and I am only brought back to this world by an outside stimuli like someone talking directly to me.” -Sir_Hunter_of_Foxes
Worry-free
“Smoking is different than say, ingesting. I prefer edibles. Smoking (depending on what you do it with) can be slightly unpleasant. Being high feels exactly like what you think (for me) worries are gone, shit’s funny, and I’m thinking on a much simpler level so it’s wonderful for me. It’s a great way I can calm my anxieties of all the bull shit I think I’m going through.”

More grateful
“This gets on my girlfriends nerves because I’ll be high af while she’s asleep and start talking to myself all excitedly and wake her up. She’s like “what’s going on?” and I reply “look at this phone! It’s a phone, mp3 player, compu-” “oh my God shut up I’m trying to sleep” It’s awesome. I feel like I appreciate everything that I normally take for granted. I even do it way more when I’m sober since I started smoking.” -SwiimGood

As you can tell, weed has an impact on people and their lives, but not everyone has the same reaction. Weed can help you to sleep, relax, take the pain away, function in society, and see the world from a different perspective.
Weed can also make you feel paranoid, increase anxiety, or leave you never wanting to touch weed ever again. Ask yourself, do I want to feel alert and more focused or do I want to get a good night’s rest? This is a journey you must make for yourself since no one person is the same.
