If you’re wondering how to grow marijuana (because why not grow your own medicine?) you might want to hit the books.
Books for Dummies is slacking and has yet to hop on the cannabis magical mystery tour, so here are ten other cannabis books from Amazon on how to grow marijuana that are highly-rated, widely-available and also geared towards beginners:

Cannabis: A Beginner’s Guide to Growing Marijuana
It has pictures! And apparently it’s baby boomer friendly according to this 5ish-star review: “Baby boomer learns new stuff about growing weed.” From reviews and the descriptions from the author, this beginner’s guide is a great way to get your toes wet with the basics of setting up a grow room, where to buy seeds, how to sow, nurture and maintain a crop, etc. It should be noted that this book is more so geared towards how to grow pot indoors rather than outdoors though.
Cannabis: Step-By-Step Guide on How to Grow Marijuana for Beginners
I love step-by-step guides because they remind me of those easy projects in middle school where you had to present a step-by-step process of how-to do something, like make origami or an epic PB&J. Fun fact: one time I went through the process of how to make guacamole, and my teacher took points off because I double-dipped my spoon!
Anyways, this how-to guide on growing marijuana gets stellar reviews for its step-by-step process on picking the right strain, selecting the proper seeds, growing your own mother plant and even harvesting it – no points off from reviewers!
How to Grow Marijuana: 3 Books in 1 – The Complete Beginner’s Guide for Growing Top-Quality Weed Indoors and Outdoors
3-in-1 products are either hit or miss, like North Face’s 3-in-1 sleeping bag is rad, but I can definitely do without 3-in-1 soap products. This book seems to hit the how-to-grow cannabis mark. It hits all the basics – seed to harvest, indoors and outdoors, and all geared towards beginners!

How to Grow Marijuana: Beginners to Advanced – Growing Medicinal Cannabis Indoors for Medicinal Use
Terry, certified Amazon reviewer, says, “The time has come for you to read this book. It will open your mind to all your possibilities. Please take the time to read it you will not be disappointed !!
No need to go to those high priced seminars. This book is all that is needed.” You heard Terry, the time has come. For what? To read this book of course! We love that it offers personalized lists on common mistakes and shopping recommendations for growing your own marijuana at home!
Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower’s Bible
Calling all visual learners, Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower’s Bible has 512 full color pages and 1120 full color photographs and illustrations! With 17 chapters, it’s definitely in-depth and information heavy – no wonder it’s an Amazon best-seller.
The Cannabis Encyclopedia: The Definitive Guide to Cultivation & Consumption of Medical Marijuana
I think this 596-page book has it all. The Cannabis Encyclopedia has more than 2,000 illustrations, multiple guides and easy step-by-step instructions throughout.
To be honest, I don’t remember the last time I read an actual encyclopedia, but then again they probably aren’t this well laid out and interesting. Heck this master guide even has case studies conducted by the author, Jorge Cervantes.
Vice magazine’s David Bienenstock says it all: “Whether you grow cannabis for love, medicine, money, or all three, you’ll find what you’re looking for and more, including clear instructions, proven facts, grand adventures, and the best marijuana photos on Earth.”

The Cannabis Spa at Home: How to Make Marijuana-Infused Lotions, Massage Oils, Ointments, Bath Salts, Spa Nosh, and More
I didn’t know if I should add this book because it’s a little off topic and it makes me want to fall down a rabbit hole of edible cookbooks, cannabis cocktails and all your other DIY cannabis goodies, but who cares, it’s a great read for anyone looking to bring more cannabis into their lives and homes!
Plus if you click this link, there’s so many other amazing options for everyday cannabis use and growth. Look at it this way, this can be your “treat yo’ self” read when green thumbing gets to be a bit overwhelming because just writing about it makes me wanna smack on a homemade cannabis face mask and call it a day.
The Foolproof Way to Grow Marijuana Indoors : The Organic Medical Cannabis Growing Guide
“There are a lot of books out there on how to grow cannabis, but this book may very well be the best book for someone who wants to grow cannabis indoors for the first time.” Beyond the fact that we love the hype-man energy coming from this book’s summary, we also love how Dain Kohler, the author, promotes a completely organic approach to first-time growers.
Plus it has to be foolproof because the Internet never lies, right?
The Little Black Book of Marijuana: The Essential Guide to the World of Cannabis
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view…until you climb inside it and walk around in it,” Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird’s leading man, said. And I will dramatically stretch his important lesson on empathy to The Little Black Book of Marijuana because it’s always important to know the history of the product you’re working with, and that’s exactly what this read covers. A complete guide from how marijuana came to America all the way to legalization.
Plus it has hilarious 5-star Amazon reviews: “It’s great for pulling out of your pocket in the middle of a marijuana debate to dispel evil myths with cold hard fact.”
We all gotta start somewhere – and surprisingly my green thumbed friends, Amazon’s got the goods for you to start your cannabis growing journey!
